A key tenet of Piedmont Lakes’ mission statement is to develop “healthy bodies,” and this is the foundation upon which our school’s Athletic Program is built. The Piedmont Lakes’ Athletic Code identifies opportunity, choice, commitment, competition, teamwork, teaching and learning as the core values of our school’s Athletic Program. It is designed to provide a positive athletic experience for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Everyone who wishes to participate is given the opportunity to tryout. Skill evaluations at the beginning of each sport ensure that students play at the appropriate level for a constructive athletic experience. Each sport begins with tryouts, and your child(ren) MUST have a current physical in order to participate and a GPA of 2.0. We offer four (4) sports: soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field. OCPS physical forms may be picked up in the school office and must be turned in prior to tryouts. Please have all of the proper documentation prior to attending the tryouts for the sport you are interested in playing. You must upload your packet to Aktivate.com

Piedmont Lakes Middle School Athletics Program is coordinated through the OCPS District Athletics Office.

Rules for Participation

Participation in PLMS Athletics means you are an ambassador for Piedmont Lakes. As a student/athlete you are required to maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 while upholding the OCPS Code of Conduct with integrity on and off campus.

The Physical Packet has been updated for the 2024-2025 school year. This packet MUST be correctly completed by a physician and contain parent signatures for a student to be eligible for any OCPS sport. Middle School students are not required to have an ECG. A new physical packet must be completed every year for each student.
