A key tenet of Piedmont Lakes’ mission statement is to develop “healthy bodies,” and this is the foundation upon which our school’s Athletic Program is built. The Piedmont Lakes’ Athletic Code identifies opportunity, choice, commitment, competition, teamwork, teaching and learning as the core values of our school’s Athletic Program. It is designed to provide a positive athletic experience for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Everyone who wishes to participate is given the opportunity to tryout. Skill evaluations at the beginning of each sport ensure that students play at the appropriate level for a constructive athletic experience. Each sport begins with tryouts, and your child(ren) MUST have a current physical in order to participate. We offer four (4) sports: soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field. OCPS physical forms may be picked up in the school office and must be turned in prior to tryouts.

Piedmont Lakes Middle School Athletics Program is coordinated through the OCPS District Athletics Office.

Rules for Participation

Participation in PLMS Athletics means you are an ambassador for Piedmont Lakes. As a student/athlete you are required to maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 while upholding the OCPS Code of Conduct with integrity on and off campus.
